About The First Kids’ Art Show In Space
What do you get when you combine art, science, education and imagination? A Kids Art Show in Space! In 2021, kids from five DrawTogether classrooms around the United States created drawings to share with the rest of the universe: symbols that capture what they think are the most meaningful, wonderful or important parts of life on our planet. Engineers at NASA etched these drawings into the metal surface of a satellite, and in October 2021, a rocket will carry this satellite-gallery into space, creating a galactic art exhibition. This will be the first time ever that kids artwork will be exhibited in space.
DrawTogether and NASA hope this first-of-its-kind creative collaboration inspires more intersections between art and science into the future, into the universe, and beyond.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is an independent agency of the U.S. federal government responsible for the civilian space program, aeronautics research, and space research.
